The Humming Bird

One fine morning, I welcome a little guest in my garden.

The little green bird flutters her wings from one tree to another.

She enters a hibiscus and drinks the sweet nectar with its pointed beak.

She collects one twig at a time; to build her cozy nest.

Then she again takes a flight,

Bringing soft grass for the haven of her little ones.

Next day morning I get a treat to watch the pretty little nest,

Done up for the arrival of the little birds,

Shining delicately in the morning sun.

At last the sweet chirpy chattering can be heard!

I sit with my dog on the porch and enjoy the happy scene.

The little bird comes and goes, comes and goes,

Bringing with her, worm and grain for the little chirping ones.
