The Nataraja takes a wild spin
Moving at a hectic rhythm
The dumru playing an unforgiving rhyme
Wielding the trident, wiping out
The footprints of greed, ego and arrogance .
Enter the nation with long flowing tresses
Hips swaying rhythmically, enjoying
the graces.
Her dance wins cheers
calling back the sun moon and the sea
footsteps paving ways for new lives
forms and leaves.
The Ardhnarishwara dance eternally, ecstatically
Sometimes the tandav
And at times a rejuvenating ballet
One swaying back, the other swaying forth
One giving life all the time
The other taking it back in time.
